The NATISHEC and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Postgraduate Association (NATSIPA) welcome you to our first joint Conference.
Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Career Researchers and Postgraduate Students, as well as all staff and students, our 2022 brings together NATSIPA and NATSIHEC is our work to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students are supported in their educational and career journeys. The 2022 Conference will also host NATSIPA’s Annual General Meeting.
The conference is open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students. It is free and participants can attend online or in person at Swinburne University, Melbourne.
The conference does have a strong early career academic and postgraduate student focus, however, will also be interesting for those: looking to undertake postgraduate studies; work within research focused areas; work with students; are interested in hearing some amazing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholars talk about their work and how we can navigate the university environment. With honoured guest and dinner Keynote N’arweet Dr. Carolyn Briggs AM.

To highlight the awesome knowledge of conference participants there will be a poster competition (sponsored by the University of Tasmania) and time allocated for participants to present their own work.
NATSIHEC is excited to work with NATISPA on this national conference. NATSIPA is a national network of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students and non-Indigenous student supporters. NATSIPA’s goal is to ensure that Indigenous-Australians can access postgraduate education in a fair and equitable manner. NATSIPA holds a postgraduate student conference each year, providing opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students to link-up, support each other, and share ideas.
This Conference is hosted by The Moondani Toombadool Centre, Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn MELBOURNE.
